Happy downloading!!!
The High Performance Corvette 2-4 Servo is a historically proven, easy to install, and reliable upgrade that pretty much anyone can do to their 700R4/4 L 60 E/4 L65E. Corvette Servo for the 700R4 (4L60), 4L60E, and 4L65E. This servo is a must for any performance, towing, RV/off-road application, but would be a nice upgrade for any 700R4 or 4L60E. Right away you'll notice faster and firmer 1-2 and 2-3 shifts.
The High Performance Corvette 2-4 Servo is a historically proven, easy to install, and reliable upgrade that pretty much anyone can do to their 700R4/4L60E/4L65E. This video only covers installing the entire assembly, which in this instance comes from www.GMTransmissionParts.com. This video doesn't cover assembling the servo.
The Corvette Servo was originally made for Corvette's in order to speed up shifting time from 1st gear to 2nd gear and from 3rd gear to 4th gear. The Corvette Servo has been present in the high performance arena for decades.
Many people have complained about slow or sloppy shifting in their SUVs and trucks in these same areas, so the Corvette Servo has found new applications. It is an easy and relatively cheap improvement anyone can do that can extend the life of your transmission. You don't even need to drop the pan.
Hey guys, how's it going. I've got an issue I need some suggestions on.
I took my stock servo out Friday night and was going to throw a Vette servo in. I didn't have any issues getting the old one out or putting the new one back together.until the last step. My issue is that I can't compress the assembly enough. I need another 1/4' to 1/2' of compression to expose the groove so I can install the snap ring. Prying on it isn't sufficient because its moving either my exhaust or my transmission, depending on where I pry.
I've already taken it apart and reassembled it multiple times, so I don't think there's an issue with the assembly itself, but who knows. Have you guys that have done a Vette servo installed the cover snap ring by compressing the assembly with a crow bar? Sorry for the long read.I'm just trying to be thorough because I need my truck ASAP.
I don't think that the o ring is catching on anything, but I'm not 100% sure. I can't see too much, but the cover spins freely when not compressed. If there's something to line up, I haven't done it. I didn't see anything that looked like it needed to be in a certain position, so I just put it in. I've put a TON of pressure on the cover, and how it sits it's just not happening with a crowbar.
I can only compress the servo assy. So far and then the force from prying either starts to move my transmission or my exhaust. I've even tried rigging up a death trap by hooking a ratchet strap up to my crowbar (lol) while it's on the cover, and it just starts to move my exhaust. I'm trying to find a small puller so I can place direct pressure on the cover, but since everyone else has done it with a crowbar and I was able to remove my stock servo, it kinda worries me. However, I was also adding the 4th hold servo, which has a wider cap than the original. Heck, I was even using a come-along and a chain to compress it, and it wouldn't! What I discovered was happening with mine was that my pry bar was only touching one edge (say at 12:00) instead of the middle of the cap. That caused a very slight, undetectable tilt, not allowing the servo to compress. Once I adjusted the point of contact (with a 6' piece of 2x4, as I recall), the servo compressed beautifully.
