I havent gotten MechJeb 2.2.1.0 to work because as I understand it I need to have Upgrade Toolbar 1.7.1 installed but I cant seem to validate if that installed worked correctly. I do know with both in the GameData directory I still have no tool bar. For a bit of humor here are my steps in detail.
Hello, I just recently started with KSP just before the.23 patch (so initially I was using.22) and I'd installed the 2.1 version of Mechjeb after having started a game in career mode and I was not entirely surprised that mechjeb never worked (And had planned to create another game to play with it). Furthermore, because MechJeb hasn't been fully updated for KSP 1.2, you'll need the Dev Release version for it to work (unless you're playing an older version of KSP). For that, in CKAN, all you have to do it go to Settings>CKAN Settings, click on 'New', then select the 'MechJeb2-dev' option from the list.
(this is a good example of why I hesitate to install mods) Here are my steps. Download MechJeb 2.2.1.0 from 2. Copy folder 'MechJeb2' to./GameData 3. Start game 4. Look everywhere for side bar in all views of the game. Go to youtube to watch videos on how to install MechJeb 2 6. Re-read instructions.
Read all the comments 8. Find out I need Upgrade Toolbar 1.7.1. Download from 10. Copy 000_Toolbar to./GameData 11. Re-start game.still no toolbar. Look at folder structure for 000_Toolbar. Think that perhaps that install is different.
Fail to find any reference in the article from number 9 which will show me how to install Upgrade Toolbar 1.7.1 14. Make a cup of coffee. Sign up for the Kerbal Space Program forums. Put in all my information. Check email for forum registration.
Find this forum section and put in question. I thought they added MechJeb functionality to all the stock control parts (probe cores, cockpits, capsules, etc.) a while back, so that separate parts were no longer needed for MechJeb to function? The latter is only true if you have a ModuleManager patch specifically written to add MechJeb to all (stock / add-on) parts containing ModuleCommand. MechJeb does not ship with such a config by default, so you will need to install, and save the following file to GameData, called Add_MechJeb_All_Pods.cfg.

Dropped the unzipped folder into gamedata. Started the game. Loaded a previously started sandbox game.

Loaded a previously saved rocket with the mechjeb controller installed. No mechjeb menus/toolbars. Tried removing mechjeb controller from rocket and reinstalling. Still no mechjeb menus/toolbars. Went back online and downloaded the latest mechjeb dev build, 2.3.1.288. Dropped the unzipped folder into game data.
Started the game. Loaded save sandbox game. Loaded rocket.
Still no mechjeb menus/toolbars. I have been using this mod almost as long as I have been using KSP, and love it. I have never had this much trouble getting it to work. As a side thought, could this be caused by running dual monitors? When I slide the mouse to the right in-game it goes off the left monitor where the game is running and onto the right monitor.
Hello, Playing KSP.23, I cannot access the MechJeb menus. Nothing pops up when I try to launch my craft (Stock KerbalX). I recently reinstalled KSP and MechJeb to make sure I had the most current versions.
I installed the 'MechJeb2' folder directly into the 'GameData' folder, per standard instruction, but that did not work. I have tried the Dev build as someone in a similar report stated. I completely deleted the first MechJeb installation, and copied the Dev build to the same locations.
Same outcome, I have the parts but no menus or controls. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
My rockets tend to turn into missiles instead of spacecraft without MechJeb! Try putting the ar202 module on the ship and see if the tab shows up on the right when you put it on a ship. There are a few options that appear when you are in the VAB as well. I've not had a single problem with the mod yet, so there has to be something that the people reporting this are doing differently from everyone else.
Ideas that I have: • Incorrect mechjeb downloaded. Go to jenkins server and download latest (not just dll, the whole zip) • Failure to put part onto ship. The AR202 module must be put somewhere on the ship for mechjeb to load. • Using career-mode, and haven't unlocked part/modules.
Run it in Sandbox mode to see if it works then. • Crappy anti-virus being crappy and not allowing the DLL to load/run. Comodo would definitely do that. Comodo is way too damned overzealous, and also a resource hog. Personally, if you have Win7 or better, there is a perfectly fine firewall built into the OS.
Putting a resource hungry, slow, generally crappy one on top of that seems pointless. Haven't really felt the need to test it in my virus ridden VM of doom, but really if you don't just download every single thing you see, MSE works fine.
