I want to install a wad file on my Wii. I have the homebrew channel installed so I think my Wii is ready to install wad files.

    \'Install

I have looked up some information about wad files and how they work but there are still a couple of things I am not sure about. - How safe are wads?

I don\'t wanna install one and end up breaking my Wii. - Also, what is all this IOS stuff about? I know what an IOS is but how does this work when installing a wad? --------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT: I figured it out and got it working.

I used Pimp My Wii to install the wad and it installed fine and I selected IOS 58 when installing. Maybe I was choosing the wrong IOS because I was selecting IOS 36 and IOS 249 on Wad Manager and Multi Mod Manager and I was getting that 2011 error. It probably would have worked on Multi Mod Manager and Wad Manager too if I selected IOS 58. (Nope doesn\'t work, kind of weird because I selected the same IOS) Also, I installed the wad WITHOUT installing a cIOS so I don\'t see why one is needed. Anyways, thanks alot for the help.

You need a cIOS to install wads, since it will access your storage drive. And you will need wad manager to install/uninstall them.

Also, if you dont want to get a banner brick, install bootmii as boot2 and make a NAND backup. After that, you dont have to worry about bricking your wii, since bootmii as boot2 can be used to restore your working NAND backup. Or only install wads form known sources and don\'t go installing random wads you find, and you will be fine. Fixed it for ya. Yeah, sorry about that. I was typing too fast _________________________. Well I\'m just gonna install a couple of old N64 games nothing major.

Also, I watched a tutorial about installing wads and all the tutorial needed was the wad manager and the wad you want to install. I thought a cIOS was needed?

Also, how would I back up my NAND? Yes, you need a cIOS installed.

Wad manager selects cIOS 249 in as default AFAIK. To backup your NAND, you need either version of bootmii installed. In the bootmii menu, there is an option (dont remember where) to backup your NAND.

You can search videos showcasing how its done. Its pretty easy. And if you have bootmii installed as boot2, there is almost no worry even if you brick your wii, since it can be easy restored to a working point with the NAND backup, and bootmii as boot2. Backed up my NAND so if anything does go wrong, I can restore it. I\'ll download Wad Manager and see if the default cIOS works. - This is actually the reason I want to install a wad. The Multi-Player ROM crashes alot on Wii64 so I want to give the wad a try.

Artificial academy 2 append set help. How did you go about installing the game? EDIT: I\'m getting the 2011 error thing. I have tried using Multi Mod Manager and Wad Manager but I\'m getting the same error. CIOS 249 wouldn\'t load so cIOS 36 works fine, up until the installation. My Wii is 4.3E.

Can I not install it on this patch? Or do I have to install the cIOS? Backed up my NAND so if anything does go wrong, I can restore it.
