First, grab the latest WPN111 drivers from Netgear’s website. Then, right click and select “Run as administrator”. Then, right click and select “Run as administrator”. Continue on through the prompts, when it gets to the point of setting up networks use Task Manager to kill the installer.

It absolutely cannot hold a connection for more than a couple hours even with 3 bars.
It's better than nothing but that isn't saying much. Other Thoughts: I would seriously consider just about any other usb wifi adapter over this one. I brought it over to my router using the extension cord and pulled my router as close as I could without having to rewire it: They're about 3 feet apart and I'm still only getting 4 out of 5 bars. It is absolutely ridiculous.
The three laptops and tablet pc we have are able to get signal anywhere in this 1 bedroom apartment at full 5 bars. The tablet can get our router's signal almost a block and a half away.
This thing can barely pick it up 10 feet away. Pros: This Adapter just simply works great. I don't know why others are having problems with it. I bought it over a year ago and simply pluged it into a USB port, Went to Netgear and donwloaded the latest drivers and presto when I restarted my computer it found my router and I was on line fast.
It has never one kicked me of or failed to connect. Cons: None Other Thoughts: I think why othes might be having problem is that their not going to netgear and downloading the latest drivers. I will be using more of these in the future. Pros: Comes with an extension cord.
Cons: Doesn't work at all with linux. Don't read this review if its irrelevant to you. DO NOT BUY IF YOU PLAN ON USING WITH LINUX. Even if you have ndiswrapper, it will only cause it to crash permanently. Check compatibility sites and find another product. In fact, never buy netgear stuff for linux.
