  Apr 4, 2015 - Before writing this post, I surfed lots of blogs/website for a dedicated Installation Guide for Coolermaster Hyper 212X CPU Cooler on AMD FX. Just installed the evo 212 but i noticed the copper tips are a little bent is that gonna cause any major problems.

  Yeah the case that I am getting is the corsair r300 which has that square at the back of the case where the motherboard is which is probably for installing the thing. I think I\'ll install the motherboard in first which allows me to install the stands easier without me having to flip and hold the board up if I were to install it outside the motherboard. It is usually better to install outside as you have an extra \'handle\' to hold the motherboard by, but I don\'t think there is much of a difference though regardless(?

  I am seeing something very similar. Hyper 212 EVO and Asus X99-A board with an LGA 2011 -V3 socket. I saw that there are pre-built screw holes in the socket. So I put the CM standoffs in the socket and tightened down the cooler to the CPU.

  It is loose because I can rotate the cooler left and right and slide it a little ways across the CPU. Are there specific instructions for the LGA 2011-V3 socket?

  

  Are the CM standoffs necessary? Or can I use the screw holes in the socket and skip the standoffs? I did confirm that my Hyper 212 model and the LGA 2011-V3 socket are compatible from here: A mistake here would get expensive. Figured out my problem. I was using the long standoffs instead of the short ones. Once I switched to the short ones it worked great and very tight.

  Based on this I would recommend this cooler to anyone with an LGA 2011-V3 socket because you do not need the backplate. But it would be GREAT if CM updated their documentation to show how to set up the 212 with an LG 2011-v3 socket. Are you listening, CM?

  Tom Let me ask you something, do you have any idea of the difference in size of the standoffs I got the 212 plus without the intel 2011 standoffs. I just have the big ones and I don\'t have chance to get the kit, so I have to improvise to solve my problem and try to mod them. I live outside U.S. I\'d appreciate much your help.
